British Council Singapore
The British Council Singapore is similar to British councils everywhere. They provide a variety of
services including, but not limited to, teaching English and organizing English examinations like the
IELTS.
They serve as the official examinations centre for University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) in
Singapore which means they oversee and administer Cambridge exams including the CPE, CAE, FCE, KET and
PET.
According to their website, the goal of the British Council Singapore is
"to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the
UK and Singapore and to increase Singaporeans’ appreciation of the UK’s creative ideas and
achievements."
To sign up for an IELTS exam you should do
the following:
1. Find out when there are available
test dates. Do this by clicking
here.
2. Go to the British Council Singapore site and download the
application form.
3.
Follow the directions on their site for registration and test taking
procedures.
4. Be sure to have or
include two recent passport-sized photographs.
5. A Photocopy of your NRIC (for Singaporeans) or a photocopy of your passport or work permit (NON Singaporeans)
6. Cost (as of 2/11) is S$300 (Check payable to British
Council)
